2027 LMA Annual Conference Call for Content - NOW OPEN

Submit your content idea or your name as a possible speaker: June 24 – July 17, 2026

Submitters will be notified in late September.

The Legal Marketing Association (LMA), in collaboration with the 2027 Annual Conference Advisory Committee (ACAC) and Pre-Conference Co-Chairs, is excited to develop the 2027 Annual Conference — centered on advancing legal marketing as an integrated, influential, and indispensable force within the business of law.

To meet this goal, we're seeking submissions that:

  • Identify a high‑impact business challenge and demonstrate how an integrated, strategic approach enables marketing to anticipate and respond to the unprecedented pace of change.
  • Build participants’ confidence, commercial fluency, and storytelling skills so they can influence decisions, communicate ideas, and demonstrate measurable impact.
  • Share real-world examples and case studies grounded in data to demonstrate measurable, indispensable impact from marketing and BD professionals
  • Go “deep” and challenge participants to think strategically and position themselves as influential contributors to firm success; quality of content is more important than the quantity of information
  • Design interactive, hands-on experiences that foster meaningful engagement, collaboration, and relationship-building
  • Create opportunities for both seasoned professionals and emerging talent to connect, collaborate, and learn as part of an integrated community
  • Showcase diverse perspectives and expertise to strengthen influence and broaden impact; featuring in-house attorneys, clients, and cross-industry experts.

Priority will be given to submissions that address one of these timely opportunities:

  • Learning from Professional Services playbooks (growth models, coaching sales strategies and more)
  • Redesigning the legal marketing org chart for the future
  • Building agile, multifaceted business development and marketing teams
  • Exploring AI agent use cases for legal marketing and BD
  • How AI is reshaping business development in law firms
  • Understanding evolving client expectations
  • Executive communication strategies
  • Key factors in successful mergers (culture, risk, promised value)
  • Strategies for human-first leadership
  • Elements of a high-performing revenue engine

For additional ideas, explore the LMA Body of Knowledge (BoK) - a foundational resource for professional development in marketing that defines the core skills necessary for legal marketers to succeed. All content is mapped to the Body of Knowledge

  • Hone public speaking skills and learn essential adult learning theory
  • And so much more!

• Do I need to work in the legal space to submit?

Absolutely not! We recognize there is much to learn from other industries and we seek and welcome diversity of thought and experience.

  • Include a variety of voices and perspectives.
  • Tell a story by incorporating evidence, case studies, research, and examples — consider what problem you are going to talk about and what solutions you bring to the table.
  • Show vs. tell how you plan to engage and iteract with the audience.
  • Avoid generalizations and product promotions
  • Consider these questions:
    • What will attendees gain from your session and/or expertise?
    • Will there be actionable items that attendees can take to their firms and implement immediately?
    • How will you engage with the audience?

• When will I be notified if my submission has been accepted?

Submitters will be notified by late September.

• Can I edit my proposal after I submit?

Yes, please contact education@legalmarketing.org with your changes.
